Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy (born 10 January, 1986) is an English catwalk model and lingerie model, and television model and TV. She was the second-place winner of Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2 in 2006) and she was the winner of series 11 on Strictly Come Dancing (2013). She has been Britain's Next Top Model presenter since 2015. Clancy was born in Liverpool and is the second-oldest of four children of Karen (nee Sullivan) and Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. Clancy was born in Woolton (a suburb of Liverpool) and attended St Mary's Primary and St Julie's Catholic High Schools. Clancy was the founder of the girl group Genie Queen, who were managed by Andy McCluskey from Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD). In summer 2006, the second cycle of the Living TV show Britain's Next Top Model included Clancy as one of the thirteen finalist in the contest which lasted for 10 weeks to win a modeling contract. Clancy reached the runway show's final stage with fellow contestant Lianna Fowler, and was the runnerup. After appearing on Britain's Next Top Model, Clancy was a model for a variety of newspapers and magazines. Clancy was the model for the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike for Arena magazine's cover in May 2007, was photographed by Clancy. Clancy was selected for Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue. Clancy was highlighted for her athletic background and was photographed in only body paint to the publication. Yu Tsai captured the photo. Clancy was wearing an England shirt during Umbro's campaign in 2010 and also other girlfriends and wives of footballers from winning countries. Clancy was a model in Giles Deacon's Ready-To-Wear Giles Spring 2011 line. In March 2011, Clancy was featured on Elite Model Management: New York division's website. In July 2013, Clancy appeared as part of London designer Hasan Hejazi's campaign. She was included in a fashion editorial from Absynth Photographic as in a fashion documentary created by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy also modelled for the cover of August 2011 of UK Esquire shot by photographer Solve Sundsbo. Clancy, along with Suki Waterhouse (and Cara Delevingne) was featured in LOVE magazine's December 2013 Advent Calendar. Clancy was also featured on British Marie Claire's July 2014 cover as well as British Elle's March cover. In October of 2019, Abbey Clancy and her daughter Sophia Crouch collaborated with Lipsy the London-based fashion label, for the Launch of their AW'19 collection. The collection officially launched in the UAE in January 2020.
