Courtney Thorne-Smith Bio

American actress Courtney Thorne Smith was born on the 8th of November, 1967. Her most well-known roles include Alison Parker on Melrose Place and Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal. She was also on the show as Cheryl in According to Jim and Lyndsey McElroy in Two and a Half Men. Thorne-Smith was born in San Francisco, California, and grew up in Menlo Park, a suburb south of San Francisco. Her father, Walter Smith, was an expert in market research using computers and her mother, Lora Thorne, was a therapist. Courtney was seven when her parents separated. Courtney lived with both parents at different times. She has a younger sister, Jennifer, who is an advertising executive. She attended the Menlo-Atherton High school in Atherton, California and graduated Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley in 1985. She also performed for the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley while attending high school. Thorne-Smith was the first actress to make an appearance in the 1986 feature film drama Lucas along with Winona Ryder, Corey Haim, and Charlie Sheen. In the 80s, she was a part of in numerous films like Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II : Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (87) and Side Out (1990). She appeared alongside Carrot Top in 1998's box office failure, and was Chairman of the Board. Thorne-Smith was in Sorority Wars in 2009. In the beginning of the 1990s, Thorne Smith had a relationship with Andrew Shue, her on-screen lover from Melrose Place. The actress wed geneticist Andrew Conrad in June 2000. They divorced in 2001. Roger Fishman, the president of Zizo Group marketing and author of What I Know, was her husband. The couple welcomed Jacob Emerson Fishman on January 11, 2008 at 40 years of age.
